Yep, this is WSU basketball related…

    I question this one?

“17. In 1928, the Wichita State became the first college basketball team to fly to an away game. The game was against Fort Hays University in Hays, Kansas.”

In 2009, Newsmax named Wichita the most "Uniquely American," citing the city’s “historic downtown,” as well as its “ affordability, thriving industry, and accessible culture.”

I really don't question the 1928 story that much. In 1928, Wichita was an aviation crazy city at that time . A lot of things were happening - air mail, flights out to the outlying oil fields, air tournaments, along with an emerging aircraft manufacturing industry. A flight of a basketball team out to Hayes wouldn't have been as crazy as it seems.
